Installation of the eSIM

The installation of the eSIM is simple and fast. Three methods are available, depending on the type of device, which must be completed before the trip.

Method 1: Installation via QR code

Check compatibility: make sure that your device supports the eSIM function. Most modern smartphones, tablets and smartwatches are compatible. Further information is available here
Identify the QR code: look for the QR code in the e-mail. This is essential for the installation process, which must be done before starting the trip.
QR code scanning: turn on the device's camera and scan the QR code directly.
Complete the installation: follow the instructions on the diagram to complete the installation. The eSIM should now be active and ready for use.

Method 2: Manual installation via activation code

Retrieve the activation code: in the e-mail, find the activation code.
To learn the settings: access the "Cellular" or "Cellular Data" section in the device settings.
Add the piano manually: select the option to add a piano manually.
Insert the details: insert the activation code and other required details as indicated in the e-mail.
Activate the eSIM: follow the instructions to complete the installation. The eSIM will be activated shortly.

Method 3: Automatic installation for iPhone

Follow the instructions: the iPhone will automatically guide you through the installation process.
Installation complete: confirm the installation and the eSIM is ready for use.

How to activate the eSIM: a step-by-step guide

Verify the installation of the eSIM before the trip.

Verify the installation: make sure that the eSIM is correctly installed on the device.
Access the settings: open the "Settings" application on the device and navigate to the "Cellular" or "Cellular Data" section.
Select the eSIM: identify and select the eSIM just installed.

Roaming settings of the destination data

Disable roaming by giving the SIM card you are not using.
Activate the roaming data for the eSIM in the "Cellular" or "Cellular data" settings.
Check the data usage taxation to verify that the eSIM is used for the data.

Final steps for connection activation

Turn the device over to verify that all taxes are correctly applied.
Connectivity test: open a browser or an application with Internet connection to verify the eSIM connectivity.

Dial *#06# on your phone.
Encircle an EID: if an EID (eSIM identifier) is displayed, the phone supports eSIM technology.

Make sure that your phone is also unlocked from the operator, because a locked phone may not support the eSIM even if the model is compatible.
