eSIM installation

Installation of the eSIM is quick and easy. Three methods are available, depending on the type of device, and must be completed prior to travel.

Method 1: Installation via QR code

  • Check compatibility: make sure your device supports the eSIM feature. Most modern smartphones, tablets and smartwatches are compatible. More information can be found here
  • Locate the QR code: look for the QR code in the email. This is essential for the installation process, which must be done before starting the trip.
  • Scan the QR code: open your device's camera and scan the QR code directly.
  • Confirm the installation: follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Your eSIM should be active and ready to use.

Method 2: Manual installation by activation code

  • Retrieve the activation code: in the e-mail, find the activation code.
  • Open Settings: Go to the "Cellular" or "Mobile Data" section in your device's settings.
  • Add plan manually: choose the option to add a plan manually.
  • Enter details: Enter the activation code and other required details as provided in the email.
  • Activate your eSIM: Follow the instructions to finish the installation. Your eSIM will be activated shortly.

Method 3: Automatic installation for iPhone

  • Follow the instructions: your iPhone will automatically guide you through the installation process.
  • Setup complete: Confirm the installation and your eSIM is ready to use.

Verify eSIM installation before your trip

  • Check the installation: make sure that your eSIM is installed correctly on your device.
  • Access the settings: open the "Settings" application on your device and navigate to the "Cellular" or "Mobile Data" section.
  • Select the eSIM: Locate and select the eSIM you just installed.

Data roaming configuration at destination

  • Disable data roaming on the SIM card you are not going to use
  • Enable data roaming for your eSIM in the "Cellular" or "Mobile Data" settings.
  • Check your data usage settings to confirm that the eSIM is being used for data.

Final connection activation steps

  • Restart your device to ensure that all settings are applied correctly.
  • Connectivity test: open a browser or any application with Internet connection to test the connectivity of your eSIM

Compatibility

Method 1: Checking by dialing code
  • Dial *#06# on your phone.
  • Look for an EID : if an EID (eSIM identifier) is displayed, your phone supports eSIM technology.

Method 2: Verification by phone model

Make sure your phone is also carrier unlocked, as a locked phone may not support eSIM even if the model is compatible.
